Michael A. Ortoll, ARM
Managing Principal & CEO

Michael is a seasoned insurance professional with 20 plus years as an industry executive. He began his insurance career with Liberty Mutual in claims as an adjuster. Michael later became one of their top producers in both the middle market and national account areas.

After leaving Liberty Mutual, Michael became a principal at Davis Baldwin Insurance based in Tampa, Florida. He became one of the nation’s top property and casualty producers and served on several large insurance company broker advisory boards. In 2000, Davis Baldwin sold to Wachovia Bank. Michael was their leading sales producer nationally as well as their liaison with insurance carrier senior executives. In 2003, Michael sold his stock in a major PEO (Advantec-hr) he co-founded with fellow principals of DavisBaldwin.

In 2005 Michael started iLeader Solutions, which specializes in providing insurance and co-employment solutions to various industries, such as healthcare, PEO/staffing, transportation, retail, hospitality and construction. He focuses on improving cash flow, cutting costs and enhancing coverage to large companies after understanding their strategic, operational and financial risks. iLeader’s PEO brokerage is one of the nation’s largest, having senior access to all the top co-employment firms.

Michael’s experience, technical knowledge and industry relationships make him one of the insurance & PEO industry’s leading dealmakers. He is a highly thought after national insurance speaker for several industry annual conferences such as NMMC, NAPEO, etc. Michael is a Florida State University graduate and a Miami native with strong ties to the Cuban/Hispanic community.


Barbara Hoffman, CIC
Senior Account Executive

Barbara has over 23 years of comprehensive experience in commercial insurance risk management, marketing and sales predominantly in the national accounts arena handling a variety of loss sensitive programs for a variety of client companies. Barbara is a proactive problem solving professional with excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.

One of Barbara’s areas of expertise in the commercial property and casualty industry is creating and implementing tailored workers’ compensation underwriting, loss control, claims management and risk management information systems programs to ensure the best, long term results for clients. Barbara’s industry focus includes PEO’s, staffing firms, non-profits, manufacturing and transportation.

Barbara’s insurance career began in the Aetna National Accounts Claims Department handling catastrophic claims to final settlement for Fortune 1000 clients. As a result of understanding the root cause of losses as well as the impact of frequency and/or severity of claims, Barbara assists clients in turning these negative and costly effects around in order to present clients to the best underwriters and insurance carriers in the industry. Barbara went on to work at Marsh and Wells Fargo Insurance Services as Vice President in Risk Management and she has recently joined iLeader Risk Management Solutions, the nation’s largest retail PEO broker.


Oriana Collins
Account Manager

Oriana Collins has nine years experience in the insurance industry. She is a commercial lines account manager. Oriana’s expertise includes all property & casualty lines of coverage for the healthcare industry with a specialty in large nursing home chains as well as PEO /HRO experience.

Oriana provides exceptional overall service including seamless transition for new clients as well as full consulting , risk financing alternatives, claims management, loss control and risk management information systems advisory for all existing clients.

Oriana also excels in new and renewal marketing functions for the most comprehensive and competitive placement of all commercial lines of coverage.


 Phil Kares
Director - PEO Sales Unit

Phil Kares is a seasoned entrepreneur having owned two PEO’s in the past, PEGS and CMGR, both located in Ft. Lee NJ. Phil took advantage of a vacuum in the market when an established PEO folded growing his companies from $0 to $250 million in client payrolls. Phil oversaw both sales & operations in these firms.

Phil’s leadership resulted in sales success with both small and large businesses, building a reputation for superior performance. He was able to achieve results by introducing competitively priced and superior services/plans. With his experience & expertise he was able to sell both companies at multiples that exceeded industry benchmarks.

Phil joins iLeader as its Director of PEO Sales, bringing with him is ability to solve company problems via creative co-employment solutions including payroll, HR, Benefits Admin, SUTA & Workers Comp. As a testament of his value, iLeader today is the nation’s largest retail PEO broker.
